This original Indiana limestone building served as a prominent structure contributing to the development of downtown Kalamazoo. Strong symbolic motifs can be found at the top of the pilasters portraying writing, time, and various printer’s marks. A plaque expresses the principle responsibility of the then-modern newspaper. Many building additions were added over decades of time all serving as space for the Kalamazoo Gazette when still in printed format. The building now owned by Bronson Health Group is in the process of redevelopment for a new use.
