AT&T Building

Description

Research yielded little information on this precast concrete structure. While many see this large concrete building as a foreboding fortress, the architecture is a significant example of an innovative modular precast construction technology. Much of the building functions as a telecom switching hub where there is little need for natural light. The modular nature of the panels offers opportunities to push and pull them from alignment with the exterior face of the building, creating interesting overhangs to an otherwise blank exterior. The modular size of the panels also attempts to relate to human scale.
